Thread: Faild To Create DSN - HELP!

    Hi there
    I tryed to create DSN to SQL SERVER 7 And i faild
    and i got this msg :

    " connection faild.... General netword Error , check your network documetation"

    Here is some facts and details that MAYBE Help you to know what is the problem:

    - I got windows 98
    - I got sql server 7 deskop edition

    - When i tryed to create DSN , i DIDNT saw "sql server 7" in the "User DSN" tab , i saw it only at "system DSN" tab and i the ComboBox where i have to decide what sql server i want to connect to , i see onlt "local"

    Thats it - I really hope you can help me . and idea will help alot.

    Try Using fileDSN's they are a whole lot eaiser to distribute You will probably have to manually enter your sqlserver name It is probably the same as your computer name. Make sure all of the sql services are running(dbl click small grey box on the taskbar with either a red box or green arrow). Make sure your sql server is registerd correctly. Look in sql7 Help.
