How do I detect a connection to the Internet?

I need this code desperately. How can I see if there is a connection to the Internet, no matter if the user is connected through DUN, LAN, AOL or any other type of connection. It must support all versions of Windows too (95, 98, NT and 2k).


I really need this code, but I accept all attempts to check for connection except Winsock1.LocalIP. It doesn't work for LAN users.
