    Hey can anyone tell me whats wrong with my VC++ IDE? All the menus, tollbar etc.... have disappeared and the window looks like a plain text editor even worst than notepad.

    Please help. The screen shot is attached.

    Have you tried reinstalling VC++?
    BTW, sometime Windows becomes famished that it eats some other windows:

    I haven't tried reinstalling VC++. But in the morning I tried to open a cpp file and unlike other MS products VC++ hung up and I had to press Ctrl+Alt+Del and then when I retried to open it was a plain window as shown in screen shot.
    However if I try to debug a hung program in VC++(fortunately got to do so) everything is visible.

    I have solved the problem.
    Press Alt+T, the Tools menu wil pop up even though it is not visible. Press Customize and check Show menus for all windows.
    Your problem will be solved.
