[RESOLVED] Putting Foot Down
I have never seen a moderator take this kind of position.

There have been plenty of hijacked threads over the years, but so long as everyone was playing nice, and something was being learned it was overlooked. Maybe there is a new, stricter policy.

It's not the most egregious hijacking I have seen (outside of CC, that is, because inside of CC that would barely count as a detour, let alone hijacking), but I have seen some threads closed due to wandering off track. It was certainly programming related.
What bothered me most about that thread was that, after JMC, everybody else just handed the OP an answer to what was clearly homework. I prefer the approach that JMC took.
