[FAQ's: OD] General Information About VBA UserForms

UserForms have similar events and properties as Forms have in VB6/VB.NET/C# with a few exceptions...

    • VBA does not have a Menu Editor for creating menus on UserForms. You can use the CommandBar object to
create or re-use menus and toolbars.

    • There is no Control Box in the UserForm's Titlebar. So that means no minimize or maximize titlebar buttons.

    • In Office VBA a UserForm does not have a Form_Load event but they do have the UserForm_Initialize event which
is similar to the Form_Load event in other programming languages.

    • There is limited ActiveX COM control support in the VBA toolbox. You can, however, add other MS ActiveX COM,
like from VB 6, and Third-Party ActiveX COM controls but you must distribute them with your Office file.

    • VBA UserForms dont support drawing any graphics without the use of Win32 API calls.

    • Windows XP Visual Styles (XP Themes) are not supported on VBA UserForms.
