[Serious]Understanding an assesment regarding Central Information Management
May I just ask how would you interpret this assessment tool?
Central Information Management
There shall be a comprehensive plan of systematic management of data and research for the improvement of acquisition, utilization of finances, assets and development of human resources, operating systems and procedures.

Re: [Serious]Understanding an assesment regarding Central Information Management
There shall be a comprehensive plan = we need a very big document telling us what we should do (with a view to wasting all the time that should be going into doing it writing and reading about it!)
systematic management of data and research = we're gonna need a bigger database
for the improvement of = the myth persists that more knowledge is efficacious and we have no intention of belying it
acquisition, utilization of finances, assets and development of human resources, operating systems and procedures = every breath you take, every step you make, we'll be watching you
Ah sheesh. It's gobbledegook, management speak for navel gazing or intrusive monitoring (not sure which is worse!) Exactly the kind of stuff that makes people want to gnaw their own arms off rather than spend another day in the facile corporate vacuousness! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
So basically, it means whatever you want it to mean because the chances are that whoever wrote it has even less idea of what it entails than you! Good thing I'm not bitter and cynical, eh?

Sounds like a lot of big words describing just about every AP/AR/GL Financial package I've worked on - along with some budgetting and HR and Fixed Asset management.
Was this in a job description?
