Re: vb 6 project
A few notes.
1: When you start a thread use a descriptive title. all question in this area should be related to VB6 or earlier and most of them are VB6 so your title is meaningless
2: Be descriptive in your posts, tell use what the errors are that you are getting
3: Show some code in your post, don't wait for someone to ask for it
4: when you post code use code tags around it to preserve formatting and make it easy to read
5: Do not expect someone to give you their email address so you can send a project to them
6: If someone asks for the project or if you feel the whole project is required then you should zip it up and attach it to your post making sure to remove any exe files that may be there. Zip should contain source code and required data files only.
7: If data files are required make sure you are not posting sensitive data such as email addresses, phone numbers, passwords, social security numbers and such.
The intention of the forum is not for private one on one help but rather a public forum where people can ask questions, answer questions, find solutions. This way you may be able to get help from more than one person and other people may be helped when someone helps you.

It would be better if you uploaded the uncompiled project to the forums! That way can see which part of the code is causing the problem.

Re: vb 6 project
if your project is big please zip it up, if not then only paste your code (all of it if not too big)

Re: vb 6 project
Do you know how to attach your project ?
I only ask because it is not as easy as I recall.
I recently attached something, and I am sure it was easier the previous time that I did it (mind you I did get older during that period).

Re: vb 6 project
I think the old forum software may have had a button for attachments on the quick reply where now you have to use the advanced editor but it is pretty simple from there.

Re: vb 6 project
They should put the button back in the 'Quick Reply'.
With the current way you first have to work out how to 'upload it'.
Then (if you have a large history of uploads), you need good eyesight to notice that it ain't attached yet, it has just been added to your history. then you need an IQ over 100 to realize that you STILL have to drag it out of the History.
If I was not such a shy polite person, I would say what I think of all those hoops.
Rob
PS The only good news is, a new first timer will not need good eyesight to see it in his History (no history yet), and perhaps could get by with a lower IQ to work out that there is STILL another step required.

Re: vb 6 project
Rather than just uploading the whole project he should start by describing the problem, telling us the error message and posting a bit of related code.
I guess some of you guys don't mind hashing through someones project with little or no info but myself I think they should put in some effort to make it easier to help them and when they don't I am much less likely to lend a hand.
