I currently trying to search a small table that only contains the name of files, these names are then used to open the relevant file.
However I am trying to create a text box that allows you to start to type the file name and have it start to auto fill the rest of the text box, there are over 40,000 files which is why this search is required. Also as you would expect some of the files have similar starts to them so I would like the search to bring up everything starting with what the user is typing which is then narrowed down based on what they then type.
For example 3 files
1. NNNY
2. NNYY
3. NYYY
Typing just N would show all three in a list box for example, typing another N would only show 1 and 2 and a third N would only show 1.
This may be a simple thing to do, I just cant get my head around where to start, the only code I have at the moment is the code that is converting the string in the boxes to a directory location so the file can be opened so I have nothing to show. I just need help.
Typing just N would show all three in a list box for example
if you use a file list box you can set the pattern to match the textbox & "*"
i do my best to test code works before i post it, but sometimes am unable to do so for some reason, and usually say so if this is the case. Note code snippets posted are just that and do not include error handling that is required in real world applications, but avoid On Error Resume Next
dim all variables as required as often i have done so elsewhere in my code but only posted the relevant part
come back and mark your original post as resolved if your problem is fixed

Hi, westconn1 is correct, You cannot listen the same port with other socket while the 1st socket connection is listening.
but if you are asking for socket arrays, you can create Winsock Arrays. OR
you can try CSOCKET PLUS Class, which can create Socket in Arrays. I forgot the link from where I got it, Hence I am sharing it's code.
