PHP MySQL - loss of data

first time this has happened to me and im wondering if i can do something to prevent it?

I have a page for the wife to edit her product info etc.. she changed a few prices, hit save.... and i think my net connection hiccuped. Chrome said it couldnt connect. WHen i refreshed, some of the data was gone.

I have 3 tables... one with product info, one with category info, and the other has the product id and the category id so i can tie them together... that 3rd table is empty... all data gone.

is there anythingi can do to prevent this in the future? thanks!
