more than one.
So this needs to be multiple choice.

Re: What kind of phone do you have?
I've got an HTC Desire which I use. I'm getting an iPhone but only because I need it to test the applications I'll be developing, it'll mostly sit on the desk. So I voted Android. I had a couple of Symbian phones before this one, and compared to this, Symbian is 5 years behind.
Also, you're missing Windows Mobile (and/or upcomming Windows Phone 7) in the list.

I dont need a smart phone, instead of sending an email, text message or facebook post to get ahold of someone I actually call them or stop by their place.

Re: What kind of phone do you have?
I don't know who makes it but it is the free kind you get when you open a cell phone account.
It makes phone calls...oddly enough that is pretty much what I need a phone to do.
(Incidentially, last month my cell phone bill was $49.90 (my monthly service charge is $49.50))
I still can not, for the life of me, figure out how I spent $.40 cents in phone calls - BTW - I'm serious! That is not a joke. My phone bill was 40 cents and it is one of the highest phone bills I've had since I got a cell phone two years ago. I'll take a look at who makes it tonight when I get home (it is in the glove compartment of my car)

Re: What kind of phone do you have?
I'm waiting on Verizon to get the iPhone. Even if they do, though, I'm not 100% sure I'll go with it. Right now I have a basic phone (RAZR) and an iPod Touch (3G/32GB). Don't normally need to go to the web for much when I'm not near a WiFi ... a $30/month data plan just wouldn't get me anything I need at the moment. Had a WinMo smartphone for about a year and felt like I was making up reasons to use the mobile web connection.

That's what my current LG Wave phone (5 years old, I know) does right now and I'm not required to have the $60/month data plan just to make calls either. Also my cell bill is $10/month for 1000 anytime minutes and free nights&weekends. Too bad Verizon's service sucks so bad that I'm wanting to switch companies.

Re: What kind of phone do you have?
$10.00 a month TMobile is charging me 49.50 for a phone that noone ever calls into, and I rarely ever use to call from. (Last month I had to call Triple-A for road side assistance).
Are you using Verizon? I could go for $10.00? I don't care about their service.

Are you seriously paying 50/month, or are you just kidding around with us?
They're leeching off you knowing that you're "one of those chumps" who isn't aware of new deals or price plans, so they're perfectly happy continuing to charge you without ever offering you what everyone else has. You're that extra revenue...
Here's what's going to happen - you're going to find a new, better deal.
You will call TMobile and tell them you want your PAC code so that you can move to another network.
They will suddenly offer you a better deal. They may use words like "loyalty reward" and other BS.
Ask them, "Why didn't you offer this to me before?"
Move away. Don't bother staying.

Well it was an easy thing for me to do, though I bet it'd be pretty hard to do now.
Alltel had an xmas sale back in 2006 (maybe it was 2007) and I hadn't renewed my contract since I got it from CenuryTel (Alltel bought out CenturyTel back in 2000 or 2001 and my contract got carried over to Alltel). So I renewed it and signed a new contract and I've been on it ever since. When Verizon bought out Alltel in 2009 my contract got carried over to Verizon and I'm just grandfathered in at this point. If I sign any contract with Verizon just to get something similar I'll have to start paying $50 or $60 per month.

Re: What kind of phone do you have?
who has 60 dollar a month data charges? last i checked it was 30 bucks and more if u want to tether. Yeah, its not cheap but its nice to have access to pretty anything i want, whenever i want, whereever i want, from a little thing that fits in my pocket. I've had pretty much no issues with verizon service here, its usually pretty fast.

Re: What kind of phone do you have?
I have a Droid X, and anyone who says they don't need a smart phone that is equal (or better) than the this phone simply have not used one yet
Sure it can email and txt and all that fun stuff, but so can pretty much any phone now.
This phone is a full on PDA that keeps track of everything I need to do and gets me where I need to go via free turn by turn GPS. I can keep my appointments organized in my calendar, and when I bring up my schedule I can just click on the address and it navigates me there. It is those sort of really nice integration features that make it nice.
Oh and there is never the case of "I wonder" anymore, as information can be so easily looked up on the browser which happens to be super fast.
My girlfriend hates me right now though, since I have been paying way more attention to my phone since getting it than I am paying attention to her, but in reality I think she is just jealous she doesn't have one.
Plus it has NES and SNES emulators, how could you not love that

Re: What kind of phone do you have?
its pretty good, although I only keep the GPS chip on when using GPS service, and I only keep wifi on when I have a reason to use wifi versus the 3G network. I hear keeping both those on full time will make the battery life go much quicker.
Obviously, as a computer guy, I do spend a period of time most days sitting at a desk, where I tend to just plug it in anyway, but I also have a USB port in my car to plug the phone in if I happen to run low on batteries while I am out.
So I do charge it daily, but I have let it go a full day without charging and it was fine. It certainly isn't like my other standard cell phone where it can go a several days before needing to be charged, but it also does a lot more, and I tend to use it a lot more.

Use your phone to take a photo of itself so that we can tell you what the model is. Please don't include yourself in the photo as we can only handle one model at a time.

Re: What kind of phone do you have?
I nearly got the incredible. In fact I was at a VZW kiosk in a mall and was looking at it and finally decided to get it, and the girl starts doing the paperwork, and another employee happens to mention how they are sold out for a while. So when I ask the girl what the deal is, she says something like "oh yeah did I not mention that? It will be shipped to you in about a month".
Since it was nearly an impulse buy, I decided to wait for the droidx, and make my decision based on the 2 phones. I decided to get the droidx because I don't find it too large like some people do, and I appreciate the gigantic screen. It goes to show some of these verizon reps are idiots, because I also was having an argument over the fact that they did not have any windows 7 phones (since none has been released yet), and they assured me some samsung phone they had was in fact windows 7. All I could say was "nope, you are wrong, it is not", but they kept assuring me it was, until they looked up the specs, and conceeded it was WinMo 6.5
I have a buddy work works for VZW, so he secured me a droidx on launch day.

Yea, I had to wait a month. It was a painful month, but worth it. I've just had a Blackberry from work before this, and this thing puts that to shame.

Android Acer and Nexus One.
I've settled into a very nice setup with my Androids. I use it for everything but calls. RSS, PodCasts, Videos via YouTube, Facebook, Browsing Internet, Radio Streaming like shoutcast, Gmail Services (Mail, Maps and Calendar), Yahoo and MSN Messenger, music, photos and a couple of games, all in a £15 contract.
Hopefully somebody would create a Skype for my phones soon.

Nokia 2760. People can call me if they want and they want to pay for the call cost. Costs me $20 a year with Vodaphone. Think the phone cost me $49

Re: What kind of phone do you have?
I have two, actually. But since you haven't listed WinMobo in the options, I have ticked Symbian.
I have a Nokia N73 Music Edition as well as an HTC Touch (P3450). Great phones both. The Nokia is struggling with the performance issue now, though. I guess it's getting old. I have owned it for ~3 years now. I lent it to my wife for a few months which has probably accelerated its ageing process).
I got an HTC Touch WinMobo last year, which has been performing quite satisfactorily. Being the first touch phone I quite liked not having to fiddle around with a physical keyboard, and some of the context menu options were actually better than Symbian.

Skype for Android is not available for all phones yet, it would seem. I can't get it form my Desire too. That, and Garmin MobileXT for Android are the only two things I miss.
