Re: [Word 2003] Opening DocX file...
No idea, but I doubt it.
Comps on a network controlled by...someone. They are old n run McAfee and it takes most of the processor power to run.
So I dont think Its as up to date as it perhaps should be. There was a viewer installed earlier this year, but that seems to have dissappeared or MS changed their format in an update...
Popping over to the more info link...
Word 2003, Word 2002, and Word 2000
In Word 2003, 2002, and 2000, you can now create, open, edit, and save the following Word 2007 file formats:
Word Document (*.docx)
Word Macro-Enabled Document (*.docm)
Additionally, you can use Windows Explorer to open files and save files in the Word 2007 formats.
Perhaps should be reworded to "You now have the option to try and open the docx or docm file."
That option is there. Selecting it (docx) then selecting the file for opening, word pauses then pops up the file conversion and thinks its in Japanese.
May be it is relying on some update, in which case I give up now
Thanks for the pointers
