    Exclamation Possible Down Time

These forums may go offline briefly tomorrow early evening (UK time) for a few optimisations and repairs. This is just to let you know so that you can work around that time if possible. The less people online, the easier it will be for us!

    Thanks,
    John

When you say 'tomorrow evening', are you writing that at nearly 3am thinking of tomorrow as the 21st or the 22nd?

    Well ...

    Thanks, John.

I am also curious to know if it's 21 or 22. For me your post timing appears to be 7.20am or something on 21st, so I assume the downtime will be on 22nd.

Anyway, that will surely save a lot of trouble for yourself and the members, too. Even if people try to access the forums at that time and fail, they will know for sure that the site is down for some time and won't come shouting all over the place.

Another suggestion is you can schedule your design work at regular intervals and post the timetable once a week or something. And better make it an announcement so it's visible in all the forums and to every one.

    The 21st.

I'm afraid that due to a few problems, the search engine and avatars have had to be disabled for the rest of today until the maintenance can take place. Sorry about this, but we'll be sure to get them back online ASAP!

I just came to the Feedback forum to start my whining over my missing avatar
I think the Avatars and the Subscribe to Post are the coolest modifications that forum had for a while. (I am not sure how old the Subsribe thing is maybe I oversaw that earlier)
I am not sure about that HTML thing in the signature yet. I hope people use it wisely so we can all profit from it. It could be very cool as long as people don't get stupid.

    Well ...

    The search!

The downtime is over, but the search is not back.

Will it take some time for the search to be enabled ?

I think that's the most widely used feature of the Forums.

LAtely the servers gave me a to busy message pretty often. Will there be new or stronger servers added? Should I start clicking the banners once a day if I really want that?

This happened to me ever since the new Stuff like Avatars are online. I have no idea on how all that works here, but if the Avatars are on the same server it would be probably smart to change that so that the basic functioning of this great forum will be secured!
