I'm trying to make a BlackJack table, the point of the game.
I plan to use an 800x600 pixel DX screen and I've made the table top image/texture at 800x440.

To make sure I get the table top shape right, I've made a ttf character to import into graphics programs.
In Paint Shop Pro, I can set the font size to 1206 and it makes a perfectly sized mask image.

I've downloaded trueSpace to make the mesh for the table.
If I load the char at that size in trueSpace, the table top becomes larger than the entire tS work area.

You can zoom out to work on it, but should it be made this large?
If not, how large should I make it?
