help with my game
like blckoutdfndr i am making a game but i am using VB6. it is a Roleplaying game. i already have some of it set up.
it starts out with a splash screen then it goes to a start screen with a picture and a start button. then it goes to the select a character screen. if you double click you choose that specific character. if you click once it shows a picture of that character. after selecting a character it takes you to thier specific character screen where you can either goto the starting town, view that characters stats, or go back and choose a different character.the town is kinda undeveloped. it has some command buttons that make message boxes apear with different chat in the from NPC's. that is all i have
what i want to do is turn what i already have into a direct X program. maybe have it where i can move the character on a map. i know very little about direct X. i have a book about it but it is long and i have a sort attention span.especially with long boring books.
can anyone help me with this?

Ha, so do I. One thing that would help you would be directx4vb.vbgamer.com .
Look for DirectX8. It is the best version of DirectX that can be used with VB. DirectX9 is for VB.net! (or C# or C++).
Do not expect to learn it all in a day but Jack Hoaxley (the owner of the site) has broken everything up into little tutorials.
Good Luck
