[RESOLVED] .6 with a line over it
Was watching Jeopardy! the other night...
.. there was a .6 with a line over it.
The correct response was .. "What is 2/3?"
I'm not familiar with such a "notation" or "designation".
I believe the line is called a vinculum,
and that it means that the "6" is repeated
forever, such as 2/3 = .6666666666666....
What is this "notation" called?
