    Individual Processes cpu usage

Im wondering if there is some way of monitoring individual processes (read: not mine) cpu usage and ending (asking politely then killing it off) the offending process.

I dont know about you, but i've been in multiple instances where i've been unable to get to taskmanager to "choose" process to be killed. For multiple reasons (Either taskmanager has been visible, but a game window is still showing (alt+tab not working), leading to a guess game of clicking processes or cpu usage has been so high that one mouseclick takes 30 sec.)

I guess the goal is to have the solution reside in memory, and if something bad happens, you push a button, it activates and checks processes, and automatically kills the process.

(and i realize the solution will also process slowly, but at least it will be automatic once initiated.)

    Think this would be possible?

Thank you for your time and potential help!

So, to make sure I'm understanding this correctly:
    1. You want a program to reside in memory (AKA, always on)
    2. You want to be able to press a single button (or keycode combination) to activate the program's tracking ability to find the process that's taking the most CPU + RAM Usage (You can have the option I guess to chose either/or).
    3. Kill that process.

    Am I understanding this correctly?

For fetching CPU Usage, see here
As for RAM Usage (Which I just assumed you might need), I haven't a clue. I do feel your pain though about the Alt + Tab not working. When that happens to me, I just restart the computer.

Yes, you are understanding me correctly ^^

I will look into this further. Thank you for the link!

Meanwhile, if anyone has any experience with this sort of thing, feel free to chip in.
