What does the Alt Gr key do anyway?
We just realised in the office that none of us have a clue what the Alt Gr does. We are now troubled that Dell have snuck some hidden functionality into our organisation. We're terrified of pressing it in case the world ends or the hydron collider creates a huge black hole or America elects a black president or something.

Pressing the Alt Gr key causes a baby reindeer to die.

The AltGr key allows you to type in British English. It adds extra vowels to all your words.

Refer to the VBFKeyboard for the keys you are looking for.

Oh my goodness, yet another thread exploring the massive comedic potential of the awesomely witty "Any key" concept. I don't know how much longer I can continue to experience these paroxisms of uncontrolled laughter without my ribcage actually bursting out through my skin and rendering me nought but a grinning, bloody cadaver.

Re: What does the Alt Gr key do anyway?
So it allows you to type one character. Then why have an Alt Gr key instead of... say... for the sake of argument... a euro symbol key? Nope, I'm still convinced it has some dark a nefarious purpose.

Yeah, I heard somewhere that pressing it puts one Zimbabwean dollar into Wossy's bank account. Dark and nefarious, indeed.

Re: What does the Alt Gr key do anyway?
If you push the keys C-F-Q whilst holding AltGr in vim, it will move the cursor to the next line.
Unless you have pushed Esc an odd number of times, in which case it will print the characters ^EQ.

So it makes a computer speak Welsh then. Nefarious indeed.

The simplest way to exit vim is to type the 47th Mersenne Prime (in octal).
