    Connect to Oracle

    Hi,
I have an app with multiple forms. In one form I connect to an Oracle Db. This works fine in Win-7, I use OraOledb.Oracle as provider.
Now some users migrated to Win-10 64bit. When trying to connect to the data base an exception it thrown that the provider is not registered on the local machine.
I have installed the Oracle universal installer. I use the same framework 4.5.2 and also tried 4.8. Tried compile target cpu as x86.

Funny is that if I make an app which contains only the form which connects to the data base it works on Win-10 machines.

To validate whether OLE DB installed/working properly:

    1. Open a blank notepad
    2. Click Save. Rename the file as "TestConnection.udl" while saving.
    3. Double click the saved udl file. Verify "Oracle Provider for OLEDB" exists under the Provider tab.
    4. Click next after selecting "Oracle Provider for OLE DB".
    5. Provide DB Name in "Data Source", User Name and Password in respective fields. Click on Test Connection to verify if connection is established.

    This is also working fine.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Sounds like 32-bit vs. 64-bit driver....
One System to rule them all, One IDE to find them,
One Code to bring them all, and to the Framework bind them,
in the Land of Redmond, where the Windows lie

Yes, however the same form works if it is put alone in a win forms app?
