    Loading an old project

I am using VB6 on windows 10. I want to load a project I started on my older Win7 PC, it is 8 forms and 1 module, it is all in a folder on the cloud.
I copied it all to my PC, putting the files in the VB98 folder, I checked they are all there.
When I try and load the project I get errors, saying the forms can not be loaded, the forms are there they just cant be loaded. If I continue loading the project I get the same error for every form.
My first thought is that the path to these files has changed, but I have no idea what the original path was, and I do not know how to view this information, if it is possible.
I tried loading the forms in manually, but after 1 form the others are all changed to modules and renamed Module1..2...3 etc.
I am very keen to get this project loaded and any advise on what to do would be great. Any more info required just let me know.
    Thanks for reading this.
    Steve

Can you be more specific about the errors? Do you still have the source? Sometimes running it in IDE will put messages in the log version of the forms. But...I'm guessing you are missing some DLLs from the older operating system.
    Please remember next time...elections matter!

Well first of all you should not put those files in the VB98 folder, nor any folder within program files.

You should create a folder for your project either in My Documents or some where else that has full read/write access. Program files is a protected folder.

You could open the .vbp file with notepad and see what the program uses, You could post that content here for others to see and maybe get an idea what is wrong.
Same for the .log files that are created by the ide when a form does not load.

    Re: Loading an old project

The project is unfinished, I don't have an .exe file just the source code, that is what I want to load.
When i load the project from the IDE iget this error log:

    '0' could not be loaded
Line 0: The file C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\AcaVB\Enrol.frm could not be loaded.

    and :
    '0' could not be loaded
Line 0: The file C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\AcaVB\Stats.frm could not be loaded.

the same for every form. The files are there, at the path shown, I am at a loss to why they dont load.

Open the form file with notepad and look at the first few lines. Post them here if you want help with them.

Did you move them to a proper location?
Did you look at the VBP file in notepad?
