    This doesn't look right

    This doesn't seem right...

SamOscarBrown has 7,064 posts and is a PowerPoster.

TysonLPrice has 3,306 posts and is a PowerPoster.

passel has 5,348 posts and is a Sincere Poster.

So it looks like you become a PowerPoster, turn into a Sincere Poster for a while, and then go back to PowerPoster.

Maybe it has something to do with reputation points???

I assume PowerPoster must be a default entry if you don't set one for yourself.
I don't remember setting one for myself, but I can't image anyone else would have chosen "Sinecure devotee" for me.

The idea is that not a lot of people may be familiar with the word "sinecure", so the curious might look it up to see what it is.
I won't say what the definition is to negate needed a spoiler alert.
(and you're not the first person to misread the word).

Hint: The definition makes me think of a Dire Straits' song. "M---- for nothing"

2000+ posts is a PowerPoster, and there is no increase after that.

What passel has is a manually set "Custom User Title" (and the words are a bit different to how you read it). It is available to all PowerPosters, via "Settings" then "Edit Profile". Direct link: http://www.vbforums.com/profile.php?do=editprofile

    edit: beaten to it!

In layman terms, being paid well for little or no work. (Dire Straits song, "Money for Nothing")

p.s. I had someone else read it as SineCurve, and of course others may interpret it as Sine Cure.
I don't remember when or how I came across the word, many years ago...
