[RESOLVED] Windows August 2019 Update break "Beep"
Just noticed VB5 "Beep" is NOT working in one of my programs.
Works fine from Window7 Control Panel.
Have Not tried API.
API Beep is NOT working either.
Could someone please confirm if VB5/6 Beep is working on their system.

Works fine for me in VB6. VB5 hasn't been supported since 2002.

dilettante: Thanks for checking.
In my case worked fine a couple weeks ago, just noticed issue prior to post.
No hardware changes my end.
Also found API: MessageBeep does Not generate any sound.
However, API:PlaySound still works.
AND YES -- if I could get find a copy of VB6 without having to purchase an MSDN subscription, I would upgrade..

Check if there is any sound at all, some upgrades may require the installation of new drivers.

Check the Volume Mixer. You might have System Sounds muted.

Eduardo, dilettante -- thanks for suggestion, but had already confirmed OS settings OK.
Per post #3 API: PlaySound works.
Edit: Here's a link to some history on Beep issue. Not applicable in my case as worked
about 3 weeks ago on Window7 and Not today so something else going on.

Edit: Followed the suggestion for Windows10 for Windows7 and as able to correct VB5/6 Beep.
