Linking Visual Basic 6 and FreeOCR
Hi everyone
I have freeocr http://www.paperfile.net/ installed onto my PC with Visual Basic 6.
I want to create a form in vb6 where I can embed freeocr engine into my vb6 form.
I know about the Project>References procedure where I can add the following files
DynamicWebTwainCtrl.dll = Dynamic Web TWAIN v7.0 by Dynamsoft
QuickPDFAX0721.dll = Quick PDF Library 7.21
From the freeOCR directory into Visual Basic 6 as References. However that is as far as my skill level goes. I dont know how to utilise these references into visual basic code.
How do I use these files to emulate FreeOCR, (or Dynamsoft TWAIN engine) so I can carry out the facilities of the FreeOCR program (scan PDFs and save extracted text as file) embedded into the visual basic form?
Any help I can receive is very much appreciated!!!!
Regards

If you have referenced it in vb6 then if you hit the F2 button in vb6 the object browser will appear.
In the part where it says <all libraries> find the libraries you mention above and then you can see their properties and methods and
maybe you can work it out from that.

FreeOCR is a standalone application, not a toolkit.
It uses Tesseract OCR, which is a command line OCR tool available on Github.
If you want to add OCR you could use Tesseract, but remember this is just OCR - it won't scan documents.
Dynamsoft (for scanning) and Quick PDF Library are commercial products and you would need to buy a license for each.
