    A question on DataGridViews

So i wanted to make a custom control from a datagridview. because 1) there are a couple things i wanted to add functionality-wise and 2) i've never made a custom control and figured i may as well learn now. Admittedly, maybe a datagridview wasnt a great and basic place to start, but its where im at... so one function i wanted was to be able to click a cell and have the row color change to yellow(or back again). changing the colors is *mostly* simple, and i can make that work with little problem. The problem i AM having, though is that i want to be able to double click to switch back and forth, but it seems that each row requires that i click on it , and then double click to make it work... anyone know why, or how to stop that from working that way,... there seem to be a LOT of events in a datagrid view, and some of them see to be almost identical, ive tried overriding to stop some of them or alter them (which itself is something im completely new to and not sure im doing it correctly) but havent come up with anything that makes it work how id like it to. Im not sure if it means anything or not, but as a custom control, it's all coded in its own class..

editmode is set to programatically, as i dont want users to be able to click and edit the fields... ive set up right click to edit them... which now that i think about it, oddly enough works in a single click
