    Overdoing the reader protection.

    Hi,

I realise the importance of weeding out bad language but some times that only makes things worse.

I live in North Lincolnshire England, my home town always gets 'weeded' to S****horpe, which only goes to highlight the unfortunate spelling of that name.

There's no point in me spelling the name correctly as I'm sure it'll only get weeded out again. I wonder if this will survive ?

Locals often call our town Sunny Scunny because mostly we get nice weather but I can't use that in my profile can I !

Along with the sunshine there has to be a little rain sometime.

There are various reasons the swear-filter works the way it does, and it is usually a good thing (so people can't just add a letter on the end to show a swear word), but it does occasionally cause problems.

In terms of code, the most common issue is with an API return value ("sh item id", without spaces), but Scunny is another valid example.

I think in this case it would be best to put Scunny, or do something like add a hyphen, eg: Scun-thorpe
