    Having issues with Scrollable <div>?

    Each box represents a <div> on a webpage. The two Red <div>'s are fixed, one at the top, the other at the bottom. The other two, Green & Purple are position where they need to be. However, the Green & Purple <div>'s Height property needs to auto-adjust based on the screen resolution. They also need to be scrollable. Within the Purple <div> are several <details>/<summary> tags. That's where my problem is.

    The only thing I'm pretty sure of is that the style for the Purple <div> should look something like this:

    Code:
       .purpleDiv {
           overflow-y: auto;
       }
    I have the above style in place but it's not working correctly.

    If you want the div to be scrollable then the overflow should be scrollable... by setting it to auto it will size to the contents. You'll need to set the height as well too.

    I've tried setting the Height: 100% and that doesn't work. Should that height setting be for the outter div or inner div?

    Probably both. If you're using relative percentages, and you set it to 100% in the inner div, it will be 100% of what's available, which will be the outer div ... so you need to give the outer div a height reference of some kind too... that either needs to be another percentage of some kind or a static value.
