What exactly is a banner link

I'm working with a Health provider that is going to offer an EAP program. They are going to be giving us a banner link (their terminology).

I'm guessing that this is just some kind of image and html link - looking like one of these ads on the forum pages (like the BMC multi-cloud ad I'm seeing at the top of this page).

Is it as simple as that?

How would I put something like that on a FB page?

Yup, it's as simple as that. No, you wouldn't put it on an FB (assumingFB = Facebook) page since FB's format doesn't support the landscape format of banner images. Now, if it's in portrait mode, like the ad to the right on this page, then it could fit on FB....outside of that I don't really know anything about running ads on FB.

They are giving us 4 choices of banner - square (big and small) and horizontal and vertical rectangles. We are putting one on a private member portal and considering what we can do with our Facebook group page.

Yup, sounds about right. Sounds like they've done their homework. Which one you use depends on the target layout and which one fits.
