    We created database that controls all our data in many excel documents in our office

    It was created a year ago on MS Access 2013. Couple of hours ago we stumbled on a problem. We can't get access to database, we see a message...The database 'Office.mdb' needs to be repaired or isn't a database file. (Error 2239). We appealed to Microsoft, and it tech support staff suggested to use Compact&Repair to Repair Access database. But it didn't work out. We've lack of ideas for now.

    Can we assume that there is no backup copy of this database file?

    Don't even bother responding to these threads. If you look in the Database Forum, about once a week there is a boo-hoo tale of database woe where it got corrupted and no backup, yada yada yada.

    Always made by a brand new no posting history account with an avatar of a random female that looks like it was pulled from a Google image search or something. And then a few days later a "white knight" account, also brand newly created, but this one with no avatar, will swoop in and present a possible solution that normally links to some other website. Not sure what the end game is with these posts, if the website linked to in the solution posts is malicious, or what, or if someone is just testing out some advanced forum bots or something.

    Edit: It looks like the posts in the Database forum have all been removed, so I guess this type of spam is being cleaned up regularly, so that's good.
