    can you move 7zip files using a VBS?

    I have a folder that has 7 zip files and some start with name BTP and some dont Im trying to find out if I can move the 7 zip files that start with the name BTP as all the items ive tried on here it works as a folder but not a 7zip file . I think reason is that 7zip is am .exe file and description is 7z SFX

    well then it would be pretty useless to be able to create files like that wouldn't it?
    What have you tried? It should be simple copy command. something along the lines of Copy BTS*.exe {put your destination here}

    But without knowing what you've tried, it's hard to suggest something new.

    What it is I have in C:\ Downloads is a list of 7z files that are named and some some start with the letters BTP and others just numbers.

    I have commands that I can move the file to either folder A or B depending if start with BTP or not and when these are folders they are OK but I have to 7zip them because I need to password protect them.

    The issue I believe is that 7Z files are applications and it not recognised by commands.
