Resolved [RESOLVED] Favorites program to manage file paths

Favorites program to manage file paths
I currently have multiple File Managers (mainly portable versions of XYPLorerFree)
I have one for each category of folders EG VB6 Finance Health, etc
That worked for a while, but is becoming a bit of a nightmare.
What I am looking for is a program that can manage Bookmarks (aka Favorites), that will allow me store in that single program, shortcuts to all of my Files(or Folders).
Some of the File managers have Favorites, but do not allow sub categories
I believe that (for my purposes) sub categories is essential.
If anyone knows such a File Manager already exists (VB6 or commercial), could you let me know which program ?

With my dream, clicking of any entry in any sub category will either -
    - Open that folder in the currently open File Manager
    - Or (if that is not possible), will place the path into the clipboard, which then allows me to paste it into the currently open File Manager's path box (usually top of the form)

Do you believe that we, could come up with such a program ?

    Rob

PS Something like the left side of (Internet URL) Bookmarks in Firefox, would be great.
PPS I avoid MS extra dependencies like the plague, but a desperate man (me) will accept what he can get in this instance.

You can make a folder named Favorites and place all the links to your folders as junction points.

    Why reinvent shortcuts?

Nothing prevents you from organizing this stuff as a folder with subfolders if necessary that contain shortcuts to all of these locations. The top folder can be on your desktop, in your Start Menu, Quick Launch toolbar (yes, you can turn that back on even in Windows 10), etc.

Start by uninstalling all of those goofy "file manager" programs.

Or roll your own. It would be trivial to put whatever shortcut menu system you wanted around a IExplorerBrowser (host a real Explorer window) or ucShellBrowse (my manual implementation of 99% of its features) frame; the latter even has a bookmarks menu already just not subfolders.

Another option is to add a folder full of links and subfolders of more links to the 'Favorites' that appear in Explorer... it's a bit confusing since it uses the name and icon of the 'Favorites' in your User Folder, but actually displays the contents of 'Links'.

This is an update to my search.
I have installed (60 day trial) Directory Opus.
It's handling of favorites is the best I have found (by a country mile)
Not to mention that it can also do anything else that your heart desires (and without any hiccups).
All you have to do is work out how to configure it.
I will be saving up my pennies, to purchase this when the trial expires.
