    [Excel] SaveCopyAs to Web address?

Is this possible? I've read that instead of a web URL I have to have a network URL, but how do I find that? Do I have to link a network drive to it?

http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?862535-Excel-SaveCopyAs-to-Web-address --- this is a web address, or a web URL. You cannot use it as a destination to save a file.
\\SomeServer\SharedFolderName\AFolder\AnotherFolder\Folder1 -- this is a network URL. Assuming your have adequate permissions to it, you can use it to save a file.

One has nothing to do with the other. You can save stuff out to the network, but not the internet, at least not directly using the File - Save As... method.

you can save the file to a local address, then upload by one of several methods (depending on the web server), then delete the local file
or use some file share system like dropbox or sharepoint
i do my best to test code works before i post it, but sometimes am unable to do so for some reason, and usually say so if this is the case.
Note code snippets posted are just that and do not include error handling that is required in real world applications, but avoid On Error Resume Next

dim all variables as required as often i have done so elsewhere in my code but only posted the relevant part

come back and mark your original post as resolved if your problem is fixed

If the goal is sharepoint, could I map the sharepoint folder to a local one and use the SaveCopyAs method? Would it update in sharepoint as well?

i would guess that sharepoint is supposed to work something like that, else what would be the point of it?

i have never used sharepoint, my suggestion would be to set it up to work manually first, then look at the coding required to automate it
