Cannot register Mshflxgd.ocx

I've been having intermittent trouble installing Mshflxgd.ocx on some client computers. I've not been able to reproduce it locally but have had remote access on several occasions to try and manually register it

I've tried my usual

• make sure they were running as admin
• from the command line, also as admin, to rule out installer problems
• making sure syswow64 is being used

I think I am using the latest version:
Mshflxgd.ocx , 6.1.98.42 , 9/18/2015 , 434kb

And I am seeing this issue on both win7 and win10 but not consistently.

Does anyone know why this file can't be registered?

Can you define "trouble?" Symptoms?

Have you tried using a proper installer?

I'm getting the error "cannot register" from the installer. Manual registration seems to work for this computer. I'm not sure why registering works on some machines and not others. I see it references comctl32.ocx which is part of ms16-004 which seems to have caused some headaches.

still haven't figured this one out yet. Does anyone know the dependencies for mshflxgd?
