    Download file from FTP

    Hello everyone,
    I can not find any example on google that works to simply download a file on my FTP server
    i have my hote, username, password, port

    Will a person have a concrete example ?

    You can use Network.DownloaFile ... https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dot...ownload-a-file

    but it comes with some caveats. Notably this one:
    The FTP protocol used by the DownLoadFile method sends information, including passwords, in plain text and should not be used for transmitting sensitive information.
    I'm guessing it also uses the normal FTP port, not SFTP, nor can you specify and alternate port.

    Personally I'd probably use WebClient.DownloadFile ... https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...v=vs.110).aspx

    Well i can't to not mention Alex Pilotti ftp client . I use it in my services and it works as a charm.

    Another free easy to use client is edtFTPnet/Free. Of course, like any FTP it is insecure by the protocol's nature, but we use it only for internal servers. You would want SFTP or FTPs if you're dealing with an external IP.
