.XLSM files not working on office 365

    Hi

i have several workbooks that are created on office 2013 and a user using office 365 cannot run any of them..... office is either crashing (fatally) or giving VBA errors...

the error on a specific workbook is the VBA code is referencing a checkbox (activeX) on a worksheet but the code doesn't recognize it and gives a message saying 'This variable does not exist'

if i google this problel i get alot of forum posts from 2014 when an office update broke macro enabled worksheets but this apparently should have been fixed with recent updates..... i cannot however find anything online regarding this issue with office365....

has anyone come across any problems recently where older excel files are not running properly on office365?
    Yes!!!

Nothing can beat the combined stress of getting your work done on time whilst
    1. one toddler keeps pressing your AVR's power button
    2. one baby keeps crying for milk
    3. one child keeps running in and out of the house screaming and shouting
    4. one wife keeps nagging you to stop playing on the pc and do some real work.. house chores
    5. working at 1 O'clock in the morning because nobody is awake at that time
    6. being grossly underpaid for all your hard work

did you try creating a similar macro workbook in office 365?
i do my best to test code works before i post it, but sometimes am unable to do so for some reason, and usually say so if this is the case.
Note code snippets posted are just that and do not include error handling that is required in real world applications, but avoid On Error Resume Next

dim all variables as required as often i have done so elsewhere in my code but only posted the relevant part

come back and mark your original post as resolved if your problem is fixed

Re: .XLSM files not working on office 365

i dont have office 365 right now, i used to have it but found it very difficult to work with funnily enough because of errors and compatibility issues with the work i was doing....

The office version on the problem PC is v15(office 2013) its fully updated but not sure if its 32bit or 64bit, the one of the files im working on has been developed on both 32bit and 64bit versions of office (i changed to 64bit half way through the project)....

again its just this one computer that its not working on and i'm no closer to finding out what is causing this ....im going to try swapping the activex controls on the worksheets for the standard controls and see if that fixes it...
