Please remove that link. The exe is flagged also on virustotal. Only by a couple but none the less it's nothing to do with your project which is suspicious at best.

Forum rules prohibit linking to exe files. If you have source code, post that wrapped by [CODE][/CODE] tags, which you can do by pressing the # button and pasting the code between the tags.

Re: Problem opening file after zipping

The code is Two lines under form load event changing the background and foreground colors of something i can't remember. The exe is a full application and crashes any inspection with reflector. Why would a fully working flagged exe that can't be seen reflecting by a new member.

Check the exe out in a sandbox, how could that of even got there with said project?

I may be over suspicious but "i can't open the file properly" seems like an attempt to run the exe after a trusting member views the innocent solution code.

    Hellow,

Strange that the exe was flagged.
Problem is i can't see the code , can't open it properly because the code is gone apparantly.
    Why ? No idea

I had the same when i had to make a task for school.
Had to make it 3times again because it wouldn't open after unzipping etc.

I found a debugged version in my zip files.
That one i can run properly.
But that way i can't see the code and my teacher can't give me my points for it..

This is the only thing i can open. ( i tried openeing everything from my zipped folder )
As you can see , it's a debugged version.
Is it possible to recover the code from this version ? Or maybe from another file in my folder?
Because the teacher gives points on the code to see if i used functions correctly.

    So short version again :

    Made a test
At the end had to save it and zip it to upload it on the cloud of the school.
Now i saw i have bad points and i failed for this course because of this test.
I redownloaded the file i uploaded to check what was wrong.
    Then i saw i couldn't open it .. ( solution fixing error )
I had the same problem with another task.
So there must be a flaw in my laptop or visual basic program.
No keyloggers , rats, virusses where in my exe.
Just a legit student in need of help since teacher probably doesn't know how to fix it.

Re: Problem opening file after zipping

Do you still have the source code as well as whatever was in the debug/Release folders? If you still have the source code, that's a start. If you don't have the source....that's not so good. The picture shows you looking in the obj folder. What is in the bin folder? That's the more important one, but the source is more important, still.

Do you know that your grade was because the teacher (or whoever) was unable to open the project? That would be pretty low of them, but...yeah, I've seen as much. If they COULD open the project, then you may be chasing the wrong problem.

    Thanks for the answer.
I'm not sure what you mean with the source code. ( the only thing i have left is the zip file )
    http://i66.tinypic.com/sobkut.png
This is the bin. Under bin there another map called release but that one is empty.

Nope not sure if it's because he was unable of opening it. ( but probably because my test went decent )
He has alot of students so .. still waiting on response

You are taking a programmers course at school and not been taught what source code is? :S

Source code is the original commands you typed which you then compiled into the exe file. They would normally be in the folder above the bin folder in a standard installation.
    > Solution folder
    >> Project folder (where your forms, classes and modules are - i.e., source code)
    >>> bin
    >>>> Debug
    >>>> Release

If you have somehow deleted all your source and only have an exe now, you can try something like Telerik's Just Decompile to at least see what the source was (translated from interpreted language into either C# or VB).

    Always backup your source code!

this is the map above the bin folder.
Tried opening everything already , nothing real shows up.
Thing is , i always saved it properly because i had to hand it in at the end of the class.
It must be placed somewhere wrong on my laptop automatically and that's why its not openable i guess.
    I'll check out a decompiler !

That screenshot is showing you the source code, the .vb files etc are the source code to your project.

    Code:
    Public Class Form1
Private Sub btnOefening1Berekenen_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles btnOefening1Berekenen.Click
            txtOefening1Naam.ForeColor = Color.Red
            txtOefening1Naam.BackColor = Color.Green

        End Sub
    End Class
Only this shows up , and thats like the first 2things i did.
Strange because there is a exe in the folder that is like what i made.. ( that is using the correct code )

Yeah, that's the source...what little there is of it. Something sure happened, because there should be a lot more in those files than just that.
