How do I log out of this thing?
I usually open hotmail in a browser (Firefox) and do all kinds of email activities there.
Today, however, I was visiting a website where I decided to contact them.
When I clicked on the "Contact us' link a strange thing popped up and asked me to add those guys to "MY ACCOUNT"
Wondering what account, I hesitantly clicked on the only option that it provided to me, and it asked me to open my email.
I entered my email address and password, and it opened my hotmail account in a bizzare looking screen, and opened a frame like a new email frame where I could type my comments for the owners of the website I had been visiting. It also showed the email address of those guys in the "To" box on the top.
In the end I clicked "Send" and my message was sent.
Now it shows my inbox, and I can also navigate to other folders like Sent Items, Drafts, etc.
It looks to some degree like the hotmail screen, but it is also very different.
Now, that I am done with it, I can't log out!!!
There is no Log out option to click on!!!

Re: How do I log out of this thing?
That looks like the windows 10 email client, you can use it as an alternative front end to your normal hotmail account. If you want to sign out though then on the left hand side there should be a settings icon (looks a bit like a cog) and one of the options should be "manage accounts" from there you can delete the account from the mail client.

Re: How do I log out of this thing?
Thanks.
Yes, I can delete the account from the mail client.
But, how can I log out?
If I chose to keep this account in mail client, there should still be some way of logging out.
What if a family member wishes to log into his or her own account through mail client using the same computer?
With the normal hotmail, it is easy: One person logs out; another person logs in.
How does that work with mail client?
Thanks.

As far as I am aware the mail client doesn't let you do that, the information is part of the user profile. If different users want to use the mail client then they should have different user profiles each logged into their own account.

Re: How do I log out of this thing?
PlausiblyDamp is correct. If you don't want to use Windows 10's Mail app, you can always go back and use web based webmail app as you had been doing before. Just remember to delete the account in Mail so that other people don't accidentally see your emails if they open the app.
Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it.
