Huh??? Wierd browser issue
I've encountered this twice today ..
.. the second time being in this thread, where I
- had completed my post #7
- spotted what I thought was an error
- clicked on Edit Post
- reconsidered that there was no Edit issue, so I clicked on Cancel
- clicked on "<--" (the "go back" button on upper left of browser, which is Google, btw)
- got the above error.
I wasn't sure how to proceed, so I just closed the browser and re-opened it.
Fortunately, nothing was lost, and there was no real "overexertion" to get back to where I was.
But ,,
- Any ideas as to what is going on?
- Was there a better response on my part to have enabled me to continue?

BTW, that should be "weird". Wierd is indeed weird.

Wi-fi went down for five minutes, so I had to talk to my family....They seem like nice people.

I'm not quite sure how that (post #7) happened, but nonetheless .. no luck.
If it happens again, I'll try to keep better notes and let you know.

Re: Huh??? Wierd browser issue
Technically it just happened to me. I made a post and then hit the back button a couple of times. Part of the process saw the post I just made and knew I just made it... Solution-> Don't use the back button

OK
At least now I know I wasn't imagining things ..
Speaking of the back button, do you know off-hand if there is a keyboard alternative to the mouse-click?
Like Ctrl-<something> .. for Google.

Re: Huh??? Wierd browser issue
Alt + left cursor key (left arrow) works the same as clicking on the back button

Re: Huh??? Wierd browser issue
Correct - back button taking you to a page where you entered something. Don't use the back button. Know if others use it, they shouldn't be able to recapture your form data.

Natch, somewhat after the fact, I noticed that if I hover the mouse over said button, a tool-tip
appears, but it suggests Alt + Left .. your description was better.
BTW I just tried it again, and a different tool-tip appears .. go figure.
EDIT -1 for Nick
Aha .. the (Alt + Left) short-cut tool-tip came from IE, which I visited for other reasons.
There is no such tool-tip for Chrome.
Brad
Don't use the back button.
Know if others use it, they shouldn't be able to recapture your form data
I'm not sure I follow those 2 points
Could you elaborate.

Re: Huh??? Wierd browser issue
If you walk away from you machine, others can walk up to your machine. If the browser is open, they can hit the back button and see where you've been and what you've entered if a form repopulates.

Re: Huh??? Wierd browser issue
It depends on how the edit opens... I find sometimes when I edit a post, it does it inline... other times, it goes to a completely different page... when it does that, I'd fully expect to get the error in the first post... so usually what I do is click and hold the back button until I get a dropdown of the last 10 pages, then I skip over the edit page and go back to the post itself or to the search results I was on before that. (using Chrome here). IF don't get a new edsit page, but get to edit in-line with the original thread, then it's not an issue.
