Looking for: Tablet, RJ45, VGA input
Looking at a LG Tablet to use as a terminal: Access net via RJ45
or as a VGA terminal.
I rather not use/buy two devices. when working in the field on a ladder plugging into a network to program some device, or need to access the DVR via VGA.
Ideas...thanks

Re: Looking for: Tablet, RJ45, VGA input
RJ45? 8P8C modular Ethernet over twisted pair? Wow, good luck with that! Most tablets that support Ethernet these days use an external USB On The Go cable and Ethernet adapter.
As far as VGA goes don't you mean output? Very few desktop PCs, let alone tablets, come with the video capture hardware needed to do anything with VGA input. It sounds like you want to use the tablet screen as a dumb VGA monitor but that's probably even more rare.

Re: Looking for: Tablet, RJ45, VGA input
There are a few "tablet sized" LCD monitors with VGA inputs, but I haven't seen any with their own batteries. Most are designed to go into cars and such. They are also nothing but a monitor and look far heavier than a typical tablet computer on the market today.
Perhaps this LG device you mentioned does what you need?

Be sure to research your external USB On The Go cable and Ethernet adapter before you buy. Not all are created equal. I had to try couple before i found one that worked with my Chromebook.

I don't know of any tablet that takes an external input.
You could buy a Cigarette box sized adapter that takes VGA in, plugs into a USB port and provides an uncompressed streaming video input that can be displayed on a Windows based tablet. They probably cost in the 300 to 500 dollar range.

Change of mind, didn't like the last one,
Tablet--Win10 with USB-B to RJ45
Or
Tablet --Win10 with USB-C to RJ45
I need to have a hard wire to network option
Ideas?
Thanks

What is wrong with those options? while a dongle isn't the most pleasant device to use, it sure beats the 1/2 inch thick device you are going to need to house the connector.
I believe USB-C will be the standard for device connectivity. You can run everything through the port that size (USB, Power, Video, Peripherals). Network is the only odd ball, but probably because that's the one thing that provides usefulness to a device and that's solved wirelessly.
