Then the members of VBF would have nothing to talk about.

The world would probably end. Wasn't there something about the death of VB6 in Revelations ?

C++ programmers will dismiss you as a cretinous simpleton for your inability to keep track of pointers chained 6 levels deep and Java programmers will pillory you for buying into the evils of Microsoft. Meanwhile C# programmers will get paid just a little bit more than you for writing exactly the same code and VB6 programmers will continue to whitter on about "footprints". - FunkyDexter

The threads I start are Niya and Olaf free zones. No arguing about the benefits of VB6 over .NET here please. Happiness must reign. - yereverluvinuncleber

I guess if there were no Visual Basic at all we'd have to brace ourselves for some big changes. ;-)

This thread was just suppose to be a bit of comic relief.

    What if there wasn't a new VB6?

My take would be that practical people would start to learn other languages for multiple platforms.

    Well there wasn't a new VB6 though.

So no flying cars, cheap unlimited energy and clean drinking water, no end to famine and war and ethnic strife, and no space colonization.

    Thanks Anders Hejlsberg!

C programmers have been bracing themselves for decades.

Brace yourself. Not unlike needing a breath mint.
