Windows 10 and VB6 applications??
Hello,
Does anybody know if applications compiled with VB6.0 work under Windows 10?
Please share your experience and/or observations.
Thanks!

I moved this thread from the codebank where people share code snippets to the VB6 and Earlier forum.

Search this forum. In the past 3 months or so we've had several threads asking the same question.
The answer seems to be basically "no problem."

Thank you for good news, dilettante!
What about VB6 software that uses the WebBrowser control? As far as I know Microsoft dumped the I.Explorer in Windows 10 and will use their brand new browser. Does it mean that VB app with WebBrowser control will NOT work on Windows 10? Do you have any information about this?
Thanks!

Re: Windows 10 and VB6 applications??
As far as I know both IE and this new "Project Spartan" browser are included, though Microsoft will probably be pushing users into "Spartan" by making it the default and burying shortcuts to IE deep inside some folder.
I doubt they'll want to risk serious compatibility breaks after all of the mistakes they have made in Windows 7 onward so far. Most people don't seem to be willing or able to deal with even the problems Windows 7 brought, especially in Win7 SP1.
But since the final version of "Windows 10" (or whatever they call it on release) isn't available we really don't know anything for sure.
