    Easier way of graphics programming?

Hi all, I'm fairly new to C++ and trying to create a program sort of like XBMC.
I tried to use OpenGL for the graphics part like moving tiles, a bit of effects etc...
However, I keep stumbling on problem upon problem upon problem and I'm getting sick and tired of it.
I tried to google all of these problems but mostly there aren't any answers. (IE: triangle rotation is stuttering)
So my question is, is there another easier sdk(or whatever it's called) for creating such a program? (Not DirectX nor XNA and it must support some kind of antialiasing)

You might find the OGRE engine or the SDL library useful for what you want.
