    help in connecting with COM port

    i have zte modem. when i use the windows dial up connection i cant connect with the COM Port Of the modem even the command "quiry modem" that exist in device manager

    but the connection manager still work with the port of the modem and can send and receive messages

    Now i want to know how to still use the modem com port while using the com port by dial up in windows

    The error message is pretty straight forward. Some other program currently has the port open.

    A comm port can only be accessed by one program at a time.

    then what about the connection mannager of the modem ?

    i already connecting the modem using the dialup of windows, and when we use the connection mannager i can send messages and receive messages and change the modem setup !!

    If the dialup is connected at the time then perhaps the manager is using dialup services.

    The bottom line is that you can not open a port that is already open.

    Also can't help but notice that so far this does not appear to have any thing to do with VB.
