    In regards to pursuing this path, check out Become an MVP. My advise, become proficient in a technology of Microsoft's. From there jump into Microsoft's support or tech forums (and this forum too) and assistance others and/or write technical articles. Do these things w/o the thought of becoming an MVP but instead strive to excel in a technology or programming language and pass on your knowledge to others. I never considered becoming an MVP, instead my goal was to give back to the community at large as when I began my career as a developer online resources were my number 1 resource to learn from.

    Yeah, it's not something one usually sets out becoming, but just kind of happens. I held it for 6-7 years... something like that. It was fun while it lasted.
