[RESOLVED] Accidentally cleaned my USB
Is there a way to recover data from my USB after accidentally using the /clean command in cmd on it? (I know, I suck)

Re: Accidentally cleaned my USB
No easy way to do it writing code.
Have you looked at the commercial products available?
This one is about $40.00 US and does more than just thumb drives.
You can try it for free to see if it can recover your data before you buy.
You have to pay for the version that completes the recovery.

I've tried Recuva and it worked for my hard drive, not sure if it will work with a USB but it maybe worth a try.

Recovery software does not work (Trust me, I have tried a lot (I think including Recuva)). I think /clean on a USB is like /clean all on a hard drive. I think it is impossible to recover with modern tech (at least not pricey).

The /clean command does not just delete the data, but also wipes the partitions (even emptier than the first time you used your drive).

So like a quick format.
Other than reaching in your drawer and pulling out the backup you made. No idea.

Use a recovery software to get back the data from it. Connect your drive to your PC, run the recovery software and retrieve your data... This application is what you need. Hope I answered your question....

Re: Accidentally cleaned my USB
@Cow124, are you referring to a memory stick rather than a portable hard drive? If so in my experience you are correct. However, if it is a portable hard drive then recover software may work.

Re: Accidentally cleaned my USB
It is a USB flash drive, so I am done for. This happened to me a long time ago when I was not very careful, so now this is resolved.
