Planet building. Not your mama's engineering project.
I was always fond of Larry Niven's SciFi book called Integral Trees. A non planet. Vast areas of atmosphere and orbs of water. No land mass. Everything was zero gravity.
If you could design a planet what would it look like?

I want rain, at times. I don't want it continually, but I want good amounts of it. There is nothing better for sleeping than the sound of rain on the tent.
I liked Niven't Ringworld, too. It didn't seem sustainable, as it was not in the book, but the land area was pretty intriguing.

It is also like this where I'm from. Two seasons, rainy and dry season. Probably why I love tropical climates.

That tough but one thing I wouldn't build in is the food chain we have now. In a way this planet is a huge blood bath with everything eating everything else to survive; with few exceptions (most plants for example). All I can say about the current set up, God doth have a sense of humor...albeit a sick one

A Big Greece planet, without the corrupted politicians, without 30% of Greek idiots that vote for them and without the 2mil immigrants in our back.

I'd make it a small cramped planet and fill it with morons and criminals and make the house prices really high so nobody can ever live where they want and the weather would be wet all year round and either too hot or too cold.
But I'd call it Britain so that it reminded me of home.

I don't live here any more.

I'd consider a planet about on quarter the size of the moon, but with flora and fauna.
No cars or planes needed. Leg power would get you anywhere you wanted to go in long hops. Climate control, Beer ponds, Steak trees, and Women with kind eyes.
Tyson,
Sounds like you want a planet of SMOOS.

This might as well be a geographical thing because this is my ideal planet:
Combined with this:
Rain all year round with one big rainy season.

Maybe we can share a planet. Half for my tropical meadows and half for your rainy forests.

You didn't look close enough Niya, all those pictures are from Greece are at least they say they are!!!

We need money from tourism so i promote what will bring money on the table. But damn if someone looks at the pics and does not find a suitable location for his/her vacations.
I mean i live there but i have probably been to half of the locations (to be honest Chios is specified 3 times and i haven't been there so i decreasing my ratio).

Actually if i remember correctly the word Greece is older than Hellas but it was given from the Romans in some point for us.

So which is it then Hellas or Ellada? how many names do you need

Sort of Holland is actual a region (or 2 regions North & South Holland) of the Netherlands. As historically it was also the richest area and most well known other countries came to mistake Holland as meaning the whole country.
The fact there Football team is called Holland rather then Netherlands is rather confusing though !

Re: Planet building. Not your mama's engineering project.
Hellas is same as Ellas. English speaking just used the "H", we do not pronounce the "H". I think Ellas in ancient was translated in something like the land of "El" , so we are the "El's" more meanings also exist. Ellas is same as Ellada. Anyhow, picky Greek stuff just call us Jim :P
Yeah Holland was just and example but you get the point.
