Mashed Edit control

I have used this control many times. Suddenly when I attempt to add it to an existing or new form it simply does not work. I can draw the control and enter a mask (xx-xx-xxxx) but when I try to run the program the field simply shows the mask and will not accept any input including delete. Normally when I run the program with a similar mask it will show as __-__-____.

Existing programs with the same control execute properly, but if I try to create a new masked control in an existing program I have the same problem.

Any thought would be appreciated.
