What do you want the "trigger" to be? For example, when a cells value changes, check the criteria? Or run a macro and check all cells? Or something else?

Re: [MS EXCEL 2010] Conditional formatting based on two Criteria’s

I have a text in column BD that should change to red only if the above mentioned two conditions are met. I have also attached a sample worksheet for your reference. Please let me know if you need any further information

For the first of the 2 criteria, which cell do you want to check to see if it has a value of .0001?

Re: [MS EXCEL 2010] Conditional formatting based on two Criteria’s

If you select entire column J, you can see 0.001 values

Re: [MS EXCEL 2010] Conditional formatting based on two Criteria’s

basically the blank cells in Column J are having 0.001 values. So for that entire row if you enter any value which is greater than 0, then column BD text should change to RED

Ok, but you still haven't answered the question of what you want to be the trigger. What action do you want to initiate this check? A button click? Any change to the sheet? Other?

I have to use conditional format only and cannot use a macro for this

Re: [MS EXCEL 2010] Conditional formatting based on two Criteria’s

You need to build a custom rule that combines your criteria. See my attached example, and convert to the correct columns for your needs.

Re: [MS EXCEL 2010] Conditional formatting based on two Criteria’s

This looks great. But how do I copy to the below rows? If I copy the conditional formatting, then the formula values are not changing. For example if I want to copy the formula till 1000 rows how do I do that? because formula and conditional formatting is copying, but still it is showing a2>0,b2>0 etc. it should automatically change to a3, a4, a5 etc

Re: [MS EXCEL 2010] Conditional formatting based on two Criteria’s

In my example, I first put the conditional format in cell E2. When I copied it down to F2 and G2, it works (as you see the red text in the picture).

Sorry, down to E3 and E4...

Re: [MS EXCEL 2010] Conditional formatting based on two Criteria’s

Yes. You're right vbfbryce. Conditional formatting is getting copied into other cells. This is what I wanted

Thank you so much once again vbfbryce!!!
