    Lightbulb VB.NET : Works On Specific Machine IDs Only?

    How To Make My VB.NET Program Work On Specific Machine IDs Only ? This gives complete security to my Program ! Please Anyone Help !

    Take a look at jayinthe813's post in the code bank. It should get you off to a good start to getting the unique ID's on a machine. After that simply compare the ID of the machine to the ID's that you want to allow.

    Not really, program files can be opened using a simple text editor like Note Pad.
    Or were you talking about the actual application that you created?

    Yea, in reality that is impossible. All you can do is surround your application in protective layers using license key, obfuscations, etc. I like to think of it as layers of an onion. The more security layers you have the less likely some will actually spend the time to crack your app. In the end though, anything that resides on the disk in the form of 1's & 0's can be deciphered.
