JOB DESCRIPTION:
A health information technology company based in Tucson, AZ is seeking an eager, bright systems analyst to assist in building and supporting Microsoft technologies for a core claims administration system. This individual will be responsible for writing documentation to describe custom configuration of applications and operating procedures to liaison with 3rd party application development consultants.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify, understand and plan for organizational and human impacts of planned systems, and ensure that new technical requirements are properly integrated with existing processes and skill sets.
• Interact with internal users and customers to learn and document requirements that are then used to produce business requirements documents.
• Interact with designers and developers to understand software requirements and limitations.
• Document requirements or contribute to user manuals.
• Perform system testing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Analyze legacy code (VB6 and SQL) and translate logic into programmable/functional specifications
2. Use organizational and department processes and procedures
3. Work as part of a team and independently when required
4. Use initiative and drive to complete tasks in a timely manner
5. Must have good verbal and written communication skills

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
1. Complete special projects or other duties as assigned.
2. Provide on-call 24 hour emergency support as necessary

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Knowledge of software programming languages, SDLC, and basic project management techniques.
• 1-5 years of experience with software design and programming
• Experience with VB6, .NET Framework, Microsoft SQL Server, technical writing is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a computer-related major
• Certification in one or more Microsoft technologies or areas of expertise preferred
