Size: 17.1 KBdear all, i am a newbie to GWBASIC and i am must picking up to learn it.
i am currently trying to write a tic tie toe with my gwbasic. My question is , i have seen some of other using the MS DOS editor to open the BAS and use it to do editing, but when i try to open the same bas with ms editor, 80% of the code became strange character.

may i ask why and how to solve this problem?

Thread moved to the Other Basic forum.

GW Basic didn't store their file in text format but used a propitiatory binary format, and for that reason you can't open it in a text editor.

If you have GW-Basic you might look at Converting Programs from GW-Basic to QBasic

Another idea is to try the RB58 utility, which seems to be available from DOS Utilities and a number of other sites yet.
