smartscreen warning removal for vb6 written app

I have two apps written in vb6. I installed them on a windows8 machine and got this very scary warning that the program is not common and may harm my computer. I think this may scare many users trying the demo version of my software.

Has anyone solved this issue, I understand Code Signing is part of the solution but does not guarantee a fix.

Yes, you will have to use code signing or turn the smart screen filter off. Those are the only 2 options I am aware of.
